About IPSA
Who we are
The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is independent of Parliament and Government. Its role is to support public confidence in the use of public money for parliamentary purposes through independent rules, administration and publication.
What we do
IPSA regulates MPs’ staffing and parliamentary business costs, determines the arrangements that apply to MPs’ pay and pensions, administers financial support within its remit, and publishes information required by the parliamentary standards system.
How we operate
IPSA applies its rules independently. Parliamentary office, Government office and technical access do not confer authority to alter IPSA decisions or records.
